Buy your child a seat
There will be no fare charges for a child under age of 2. But a long trip with a child on your lap will be uncomfortale. It can be so unsafe if the plane you are taking hits by turbulence. There are some international travel requires a child to buy a ticket.

Bring the car seat
Kids used to sitting in car seats are more likely to sit happily if they are in them on airplane. Check with individual airlines for more information on accepted restraints.

Bring sippy cups to avoid spills. If you are traveling with a baby, bring a change of clothes, more diapers and wipes than you think you will need.
